Before The Tears Come…
by Alethea Matthews
And I see you, standing near the trees, beautiful, alluring, exquisitely handsome, shining with all your might, like the smothering sun in the clear blue sky, like a house left standing after a tsunami, like the stars in the moonless night, like gold in silver, like love in hatred, like a ray of bright light in the melancholic darkness, like roses in thorns, like me in the whole wide world.
And I blink, for there is nothing else I understand that I should do.
You come near me and it doesn’t take a moment before I can feel your breath lingering on my neck. And there I am, flying through the wind, with your hand on my waist, dancing on the sound of the crickets.
Ahem, this is amazing, especially from the perspective by which it’s written. Such a romantic moment.
Are you writing any book currently?
I love these: “dancing on the sounds of crickets” and “like love in hatred.”
Actually, no, I am not…..Medicine doesn’t even give me time for short stories, let alone a novel.
But if I ever write one, you’re surely on the didication list!
:)
You’re a great person, really and I love you. Thanks for the support.
Awww, thanks. Love you too, Alethea.
You have a way of expressing very deep moments of emotion that is very captivating. I noticed that you use the term smothered or smothering in quite a few of your works, I would love to see you tackle that emotion as it can be just as powerful as love or despair. Beautiful voice. ~Jess
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for liking my serial short story, “The Home Place.” I’m really glad to know about your poetry blog!
Thanks.
Thank you so much for liking my latest part of “Planchette” and various other parts! I’m honoured that you’ve come back to read my work a number of times! Is this part of a book you’re writing, or a one off extract? It’s amazing!
No, its not a book, its a short story.
:)
Anyways, thanks for stopping by.
Beautifully written.
Thanks.
